Triassic Period (230-201 million years ago)
The Triassic period is the first and shortest period of the dinosaur era, lasting about 29 million years. The climate on Earth during this time was relatively dry, sea levels were lower, and land areas were smaller. At the beginning of the Triassic period, dinosaurs were just common reptiles, similar to modern-day crocodiles and lizards. Over time, some dinosaurs gradually became larger, such as the Coelophysis and Dilophosaurus.
Jurassic Period (201-145 million years ago)
The Jurassic period is the second period of the dinosaur era and one of the most popular. During this time, the Earth’s climate became relatively warm and humid, land areas increased, and sea levels rose. There were many diverse types of dinosaurs that lived during this period, including well-known species like Velociraptor, Brachiosaurus, and Stegosaurus.
Cretaceous Period (145-66 million years ago)
The Cretaceous period is the last and longest period of the dinosaur era, lasting about 80 million years. During this period, the Earth’s climate continued to warm, land areas expanded further, and giant marine animals appeared in the oceans. Dinosaurs during this period were also very diverse, including famous species such as Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, and Ankylosaurus.
