Dinosaurs are reptiles of the Mesozoic Era (250 million to 66 million years ago). The Mesozoic is divided into three periods: Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous. The climate and plant types were different in each period, so the dinosaurs in each period were also different. There were many other animals in the dinosaur period, such as pterosaurs flying in the sky. 66 million years ago, the dinosaurs went extinct. It may have been caused by an asteroid hitting the Earth. Triceratops was a large dinosaur with three horns which were used for protection. It had a hundred of teeth.
Parasaurolophus could make a sound with its tall crest. The sound may have warned others that an enemy was near.
6. Ankylosaurus
Ankylosaurus had a suit of armor.It was slow-moving and used its clubbed tail for protection.
7. Stegosaurus
Stegosaurus had plates down its back and a spiky tail. It had a very small brain.
8. Velociraptor
Velociraptor was a small, fast and fierce dinosaur.It had feathers on its arms.
9. Carnotaurus
Carnotaurus is a large carnivorous dinosaur with two horns on the top of his head, and is the fastest large dinosaur known to run.
Pachycephalosaurus is characterized by its skull, which can reach 25 cm thick. And it has a lot of nodules around its skull.
11. Dilophosaurus
Dilophosaurus’s head has two irregularly shaped crowns that are approximately semi-elliptical or tomahawk-shaped.
12. Pterosauria
Pterosauria has unique skeletal features, with wing membranes that resembled bird wings, and were able to fly.
